Orchatears is an ocular Lubricant, artificial tears Solution.
Active ingredient is polyvidone 50 mg ( has mucin like qualities ).
Preservative is Benzalkonium chloride 0.05 mg.
Electrolytes: sodium chloride , potassium chloride, calcium chloride, magnesium chloride.

Orchatears gives qualitative and quantitative therapy for dry eye as it contains all the necessary electrolytes for the eye as sodium, potassium, calcium and magnesium.

Polyvidone: a water soluble polymer

• Increases the viscosity of aqueous solutions.
• Absorbed into the corneal surface and forms a hydrophilic layer
  • Gives rise to better adhesion and increases retention time (stabilizes tear film).
  • Has mucin like qualities beneficial in mucin deficiencies.

Orchatears contains electrolytes which support the healing of damaged epithelial surface.

Dosage
One drop 4 times daily or as required, (depending on the severity of the disease) to be instilled into the conjunctival sac.
