Safety Profile
Generally, high doses of steroids when used for a short period of time (of only several days) are almost always safe & effective.
- Like any other medicine, Orchapred gel may have some side effects on the long term use like:
- Visual acuity defects
- Posterior cataract
- Glaucoma
- Secondary ocular infection
- Orchapred gel is contraindicated in the following cases:
- Viral diseases of the cornea as herpes simplex, vaccinia & varicella.
- Fungal infection of the ocular structure.
- Mycobacterial infection.
- Suspected hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients
- Pregnant & nursing mother
