How Orchazid is Different

Orchazid only can give your patient what others can not

  • Fast relief of itching and redness within minutes.
  • Continued relief of signs and symptoms for up to 12 hours.
  • Protection against symptoms recurrence with a twice daily use.

All the anti-allergic agents in the Egyptian market are antihistamines used for the treatment of acute allergic symptoms or mast cell stabilizers that work slowly and are mainly used  in  prophylactic therapy.

Orchazid has a unique multiple mode of action that gives your patient multiple benefits , differentiates it from all other antiallergic agents. Orchazid targets more than one stage of the allergy process with it's unique mechanism. It is a fast acting selective, noncompetitive histamine antagonist (H1-receptor), mast cell stabilizer and eosinophils` inhibitor.

Unique multiple mode of Action:

  • Anti - histamine
Ketotifen is a potent relatively selective non-competitive H1 receptor antagonist. Thereby reduces itching, redness and swelling (within 15 min).
Ketotifen has 1000 folds greater selectivity for H1 than for the H2 receptors.

  • Mast cell stabilizer
Ketotifen inhibits inflammatory effects through inhibition of the release of chemical mediators from activated mast cells. So prevents the signs and symptoms of allergic conjunctivitis.

  • Eosinophil inhibitor:
Ketotifen inhibits Eosinophil infiltration activation and degranulation This reduces the swelling normally seen in seasonal allergic conjunctivitis functions.
