Orchazid Safety

Orchazid has an excellent safety profile comparable to placebo in safety and tolerability.
Related to the clinical studies Ketotifen fumarate is safe and well tolerated in both the adult and pediatric populations aged 3 years and above, with an incidence of ocular adverse events comparable with placebo.

In controlled clinical studies, eye redness, headache, hay fever were reported but the occurrence of these side effects were generally mild.
Tthese side effects were reported at an incidence of <5%.
Ocular allergic reaction, conjunctivitis, burning, stinging, dry eye ,eye pain, eye disorders, itching, inflammation of the front part of the eye, abnormal tearing, pupil dilation, light sensitivity and rash .

Orchazid should be used with caution in nursing women as; Ketotifen fumarate has been identified in breast milk in rats following oral administration. It is not known whether opical ocular administration could result in insufficient systemic absorption to produce detectable quantities in breast milk.

Orchazid should not be used in patients with hypersensitivity to any component of this product.

Contact lens wearers; should remove CL before using Orchazid and wear them at least 10 minutes after.
