The start was in 1993 by the creation of Orchidia Promotions, a pharmaceutical scientific office....
- 1993:
Orchidia Promotions entering the pharmaceuticals sector in Egypt with the aim of providing promotional services to multinational pharmaceutical companies, this was the gateway through which Orchidia gained its vast experiences.
- 1993 - 2003:
Orchidia Promotions became the local agent for Ciba Vision (a Novartis Company) responsible for launching, marketing and distribution of Ciba Vision and later on other Novartis Pharma products in Egypt with an annual turnover of 50 million Egyptian Pounds in 2002.

- 2003:
Orchidia Promotions is expanded and transformed into Orchidia Pharma an Egyptian pharmaceutical company with multinational potentials.
- 2003 – 2006:
Orchidia Pharma has concerted its attention on ophthalmic patients by registration, production through toll manufacturing, marketing and promotion of Orchidia Pharma’s own ophthalmic products range satisfying the needs of the Egyptian and Arabian patients.
Orchidia Pharma was responsible for registration, sales & marketing of a wide range of ophthalmic products. Thus we acquired a lot of experiences in ophthalmic marketing, regulatory affairs, as well as gaining the confidence of MOH authorities with regards to registration and pricing of products.
Orchidia Pharma in just 4 years since its existence has achieved 6th position in the ophthalmic market in which 45 companies operate; growing by 53% four times faster than the ophthalmic market in Egypt, with a growing market share of over 5% in ’06.
As the demand for Orchidia’s excellent quality and affordable products increased dramatically and continues to grow, Orchidia decided to build a new manufacturing site in Al-Obour city (a suburb of Cairo) to achieve its production goals and to implement Orchidia’s research and development based orientation.
Orchidia Pharma’s diversification towards manufacturing began by Toll manufacturing, success of such endeavors encouraged the company to develop its own modern manufacturing facility which uses sophisticated State-of-the-art Technology, sourced from world leading companies.
Orchidia Pharma manufacturing facility practices WHO GMP and is designed with a focus on international regulatory approvals including US FDA, MHRA (UK) and ISO Standards.
